Frequently Asked Questions

  • 1. Are you an Agent?
Unfortunately, the term “Agent” gives the impression of an unauthorized representative, ghost counsel, and/or individuals who do not act in the best interest of the client. Thus, we go to great lengths to help the public understand that being an Immigration consultant is a Regulated/Licensed Immigration professional in Canada. Consultants are bound by laws and regulations in Canada that ensure we act in the best interest of our clients. Consultants underwent an extensive training program in Immigration law and undertook a professional exam that tests our competence and grasp of Canadian immigration, as well as the applicability of these laws, policies and procedure to clients. Just like Lawyers or paralegals, we are required to finetune our skills and knowledge through continuing professional education.
  • 2. What type of application do you do?
We work on all types of immigration application with exception to refugee application. Our specialty however includes Spousal sponsorship, LMIA/LMIA exempt applications and Super visa. In addition to this we also work on refused applications as well as restoration of status. There is no application too little or too big for us to tackle should we decide to work on your application.

We offer payment in two instalments. However, on some occasions we may offer more instalments spread over a period of time ideally, all payment will be collected before a decision is made on your application
  • 4. Can I pay when my application is approved?
According to the code of professional conduct, Consultants do not offer contingency billing i.e. pay for service only when the outcome of the application is positive. Thus, comply with this regulation, all fees must be paid in full before a decision is made on the application. We also offer transparent pricing, our starting prices are quoted on our website, we do not offer differential pricing, and we do not charge additional fee after a decision is made on your application.
  • 5. Do you help companies and individuals hire and retain foreign workers?
We offer a wide range of services to Individuals and Companies in Canada. We help individuals with a wide range of services which includes, spousal sponsorship, visiting visa, super visa, Express Entry, Provincial Nomination, Spousal Open work permit, Employer specific work permit, super visa, business immigration - provincial and entrepreneur etc. We help companies in Canada understand the reason for hiring foreign workers, how to retain workers on expiring post-graduation work permits, intra-company transfers, understanding LMIA and LMIA Exemption and much more. We are however not a recruitment company where we charge employees to place them in a company in Canada.
  • 6. Can you guarantee that my application will be approved if you work on my application?
IRCC goes to great extent to advise the public that NO ONE CAN GUARANTEE YOU A VISA Thus, our goal is to take all the necessary steps and procedures to improve your chance of a positive outcome.
  • 7. Why do I have to pay for a consultation?
Paying for consultation is like paying to park at the parking meter or paying to see a medical doctor or a therapist. Think of Immigration consultations as your Immigration therapy sessions. Several immigration practitioners have extensive education, experience, certifications, and specialized Immigration certification that allows these practitioners to charge a fee for their services. We recommend that every individual schedule a one-on-one conversation to ensure we are able to discuss immigration programs you may qualify for, provide action items to work on prior to an application, discuss funds, program eligibility, and other important items that will help improve your chances of an approval. Consultation fees are deducted from professional fees (terms and conditions apply).
  • 8. Can I skip a consultation?
If you already know the application you would like to submit, and have all relevant documents needed to get started, simply send an email to hello@msimm.ca detailing the application you would need assistance with and provide the following information. First Name Last Name Email Phone Number Mailing Address Type of Application you would like to Study Confirm if you have previous Refusals Indicate if you are interested in an Application Review Session or Full Representation.
  • 9. I have been refused before, what's next?
A refusal is not the end of your immigration journey. We've worked on several refused applications including applications for those who are out of status in Canada.
  • 10. Do you offer full package immigration services?
We offer several services that include application review and full representation services. Application Review is good for you if You want to have the best chance of avoiding the most common immigration application blind spots You are comfortable preparing your application on your own You are confident that you meet all the requirements for the application to be submitted You would like the added confidence of having an immigration professional review your application before you submit it to IRCC Fully Representation is good for you if You don't have the time to research the intricacies of your case to make sure that you qualify for the requirement of your visa application You need assistance in determining if any past legal issues will have an impact on your application for example; Convicted of DUI, Committed an assault for which you have not been convicted of etc. You need assistance in determining if any past immigration issues will have an impact on your application for example, undocumented/out of status in a foreign country, previous refusal from other countries including Canada, previous ban or deportation from a foreign country including Canada. You aren't confident that you can prepare your application on your own PS: We do not offer services where clients expect MainStreet Immigration Services to provide documents such as bank statements, employment etc for their immigration application. This will be in violation of the code of professional conduct.
  • 11. Do I really need an immigration consultant?
Not everyone would need an immigration consultant. Just as you may not need a recruiter when applying for a job. However, applying for a visa can become complicated and even time consuming. A consultant can provide valuable assistance, and help uncomplicate complex immigration requirements. They can help draw a clear roadmap of your journey to Canada, as well as highlight potential obstacles and reduce your chances of making mistakes. Several Immigration consultants just like our Principal consultant have gone through the immigration process and can thus empathize with clients.
  • 12. What is your approval rate / guarantee?
We have a 98% customer satisfaction rate. This is because we focus on submitting a high-quality, complete and cohesive application that uniquely addresses each client's needs. Our goal is to ensure that an Immigration officer looks favourably on each application, while they make the final decision.

We don't treat you as family to avoid see finish ( a nigerian slang that means over familiarity in relationships that can lead to disrespect and unprofessional relationships) rather think of MainStreet Immigration Service as a luxury get away. We offer a unique customer service experience and build a strong relationship with clients that feels like luxury. Just as it should!
